When & where are your meetings? Troop 189, a part of the Sherman Oaks Scouts, meets every Tuesday night from 6:30 - 8:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church in Encino. How much does it cost to join? The fees for Troop 189 are $160 per Scout, which does not include BSA registration. How does it work having both girls & boys in the same Troop? In Troop 189, girls and boys are organized into separate patrols, but they still participate in many activities together as a youth scouting program! Are parents required to be leaders? While parents are not required to be leaders, our strength lies in our Leadership Team, so the more help we receive, the better. Parents are encouraged to attend all Troop Committee meetings to help enhance the troop and create the best environment for our scouts. Does Troop 189 participate in fundraising? Yes, Troop 189 engages in a variety of fundraising activities to help offset participation costs. How often do you have activities? Typically, we plan camping trips or other activities for the first weekend of every month, allowing parents to schedule other events around their child's scouting experiences.
